General Information

The Austrian Cricket Association (ACA), or Österreichischer Cricket
Verband (ÖCV) to give it its German name, was founded in 1981,
to act as the govening body for cricket in Austria and to oversee
competitive cricket in Austria, having been founded by Kerry Tattersall,
who had re-introduced the game to Austria in 1975, when Austria's
oldest current club, Vienna Cricket Club was founded.
The Association has also invested a great deal of time in ensuring
the improvement of cricket facilities in Austria - when the ACA
was founded, a dedicated cricket ground was a mere dream, but one
which has become reality, with four dedicated cricket grounds currently
in operation in Austria, all of which are capable of staging international
cricket matches - indeed the ACA has organised three international
outdoor tournaments, having hosted the ECC Trophy (now the ECC Affiliate
Championships) in 2001 and 2003 and the ECC Representative Festival
(now the ECC Representative Championships) in 2000.
The Austrian Cricket Association also oversees the running of the
Austrian National Team, Youth Teams, Coaching Initiatives, as well
as administrative duties involved with the game in Austria. It is
reponsible for organising all competitive cricket in Austria and
its role extends beyond the borders of Austria in trying to ensure
that neighbouring countries' efforts are assisted.
