Activities - Cricket is more than just a game between two teams of 11 people
For Cricket to flourish in Austria on a long-term basis, it is important that as well as harnessing the playing side of the game, by operating leagues and competitions, that other facets of the game are also addressed. Cricket is more than just a game featuring two teams of 11 players (and fielding substitutes). Similarly a Cricket Club is more than fielding a team.
The Austrian Cricket Association's Cricket Development Officer is responsible for ensuring that there is also an accent on coaching - so that clubs can start their own coaching programmes and therefore encourage youth cricket in Austria. Further information on coaching can be found in the coaching section of this website.
The Chairman of AUCUS also ensures that there is training for Umpires and Scorers - both vital roles within the game to ensure that matches run smoothely. Further information about umpiring can be found in the umpiring section of this website.
For further information about Youth Cricket, and how the Austrian Cricket Association can assist you in starting a Youth Cricket programme, please visit the Youth Cricket section on this website.
For details of International tournaments that the ACA has hosted, please visit the tournaments section of the website. This section
also contains information about the tournaments that the Austrian National Teams participate in - both the senior national team as
well as Austrian youth teams.
ACA Member clubs also organise events in addition to participating in the ACA Open League, ACA Trophy and the Österreichische Meisterschaft (ÖMS), and ACA Indoor Championships. More information about these events can be found in the Club Competitions section of this website.
